The issue is that the FCC doles out big fines for indecency. If the video actually does show female genitalia, Fox can expect a substantial sanction. How the FCC reacts could have implications on what level of nudity, etc will be allowed on television in the future. So, while I agree that ogling a woman's shadowy labia is sophomoric, you can't say that it's not newsworthy.

I have to take issue with the title and the general apparent ignorance of the public with respect with female reproductive organs anatomy.
What she showed (if she showed it) was not her vagina, it was the labia and clitoris. The vagina is INSIDE the body, therefore cannot be exposed, unless the young woman is dissected. The majority of time I hear people talk about female genitals they say vagina when they really mean another body part. And if you don't want to say labia and clitoris, just say genitals/genitalia as in "Genitals exposed on "So You Think You Can Dance?""

Monty Python's nude pianist and Benny Hill's dancers revealed more and were much more entertaining. As was "Baywatch". Has anybody at Fox looked at Showtime's "Brotherhood" series ? An upskirt flash in shadow is hardly risque by current - or even - 80's standards.
